The Castle of Xàtiva, was an ancient foritification of the Iberians, the first settlers before the arrival of the Romans to the peninsula.

This fortification was improved thanks to Roman engineering, which meant an increase in its defenses.

Later, With the arrival of the Arabs to the Iberian Peninsula, they brought a great innovation in civil and military construction throughout the region and can be represented in the castle.

These improvements made by the Arab kingdoms of the Spanish peninsula in this place consisted ofrebuilding the wall and creating the of a central square that served as gardens of the palace and meeting point for the soldiers assigned to this fortification.

This fortification is one of the most important castles in the country, since it has been the scene of several very important battles in the history of the Middle Ages and later ages.

Currently, the castle is considered historical heritage of the community of Valencia and it is possible to visit it in a guided way.
